Microorganisms in Foods 8 - Use Of Data For Assessing Process Control And Product Acceptance is currently underway. Katie Swanson is chief editor for Book 8. Detailed outlines of the chapters have been distributed.

The purpose of this book is to provide guidance on appropriate testing of food processing environments, processing lines, and finished product to enhance the safety and microbiological quality of the food supply.

Some members are preparing input to CODEX on the code of hygiene practice for infant formula. As part of the latter, the commission was joined by three consultants; Greg Paoli, Dan Marsch and Don Zink which were thanked for their contributions.

Food Safety Objectives
This paper by ICMSF, November, 2005 provides an introduction to Food Safety Objectives" (FSOs) and “Performance Objectives” (PO) which can be used by an authority to communicate food safety levels to industry and other governments.
