Chairman’s Report

The Chairman opened the 39th general meeting of the ICMSF by welcoming
members and consultants and also thanking Lucia Anelich and the Consumer Food
Council of South Africa (CGSCA) for the excellent organization of the meeting and
warm hospitality shown the commission.

The Commission meeting was preceded by a one-day Symposium on “Current and
Innovative Approaches to Microbiological Food Safety Management” in Pretoria held
in conjunction with the South African Association for Food Science and Technology.
The meeting was well attended and the symposium was well received. Special
thanks go to Lucia Anelich and CGSCA, the organizing committee and the various
company sponsors that made this event possible.
